• Responding to negative comments in a negative way, do not come to your own defence when people bad mouth you online.
• Trying to push sales in every update- you will soon be “unfollowed”.
• Overwhelming your fans with content on your various social media platforms.
• Not responding timeously to comments made on your social media platforms, remember every comment could be a potential customer.
• Participating in online arguments to increase traffic to your website or to your social media platforms. Negative exposure is never good for business.
• Advertising on other brands social platforms without them knowing, eg. Posting comments or ads on their facebook pages because they have more likes or fans, this is called spamming.
• Having short hand content, eg. “Pls lyk our fb page”, show your online audience that you are passionate about your brand in the way you promote it.
• Disappearing for days- your brand should have a consistent online presence.
• Bribing fans to like your page- it’s better to source fans organically; this way you can be sure you speaking to targeted audiences
